After over a year, the new issue of Be About It zine is finally here. The theme is “late” and so is the delivery. I think it was worth the wait. You can get yourself a copy here while supplies last.
Please enjoy this piece featured in the zine from Brianne Agnizle.
9:15AM
It's 9:15am. I wasn't supposed to end up here. I wasn't supposed to be stuck in traffic on the way to an office job. I didn't mean to know this life. I was supposed to be famous by 24. People were going to know my name. I had flashing lights waiting. That's what a psychic told me after she looked at my palms. This was in New York. I tried to die in a hotel room a couple months before that. The hotel had been a short drive away from my house. This was in September. I was supposed to be at work at 9:00. Fifteen minutes ago. The traffic moves up. In the distance I see ambulances and police cars and fire trucks. I call work: sorry I'm late, there's been an accident on I-96. It's okay, Brianne, we'll see you when you get here. I look in the rearview mirror. My driveway is behind me. Late, I'm going to be so late.
